Chutzpah - Dayenu’s signature, non-partisan effort to mobilize climate-concerned voters in key states - is in full swing. The goal is to elect climate champions at the local, state and federal levels who have the chutzpah to deliver urgent action on climate at the scale that science and justice demand. Dayenu provides a full menu of actions that voters in every state can take in the months leading up to the 2024 election.
NOW, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work! Here’s what you can do:
1. Sign up NOW to attend three phonebanking shifts in the next 9 weeks! There will be two or more shifts a week until Election Day.
2. Organize your community to participate in Chutzpah 2024. Sign up to co-sponsor or host your own phonebanking shift. Fill out the Chutzpah organizing form
If you would like more information about what’s involved in organizing an event, come to a Chutzpah 2024 organizing call. Sessions are coming up September 11 (3pm ET) and September 16 (3pm ET). When you co-sponsor, you agree to recruit ten people to come to one of Dayenu’s shifts. When you host your own “phonebank in a box” sessions, you organize your own event.
Wondering if phonebanking is for you? Two things you should know:
1. Dayenu's strategy is tested and proven to be effective. We contact climate-concerned voters in key states who don’t always show up to vote. This tactic has proven to increase turnout and build people power for the long haul.
2. You don’t need any experience to join a shift – and it’s fun. We gather on Zoom, introduce ourselves, hear a kavanah (short teaching and words of intention), then train folks who are new to the dialing system – and start calling. We close out by sharing highlights from our calls, and enjoying a little live music. It feels good to do this work Jewishly, nourished by our ancestral wisdom and connected with each other. Not sure where to start? Sign up for one of two shifts in the coming week:

Experiencing inexplicable pain and suffering is an aspect of the human condition that people of every faith tradition have wrestled with for millennia. The Book of Job invites us into a conversation about the connection between suffering and punishment by exploring the story of one righteous man confronted with overwhelming misfortune through no fault of his own. Join us as we explore the complex topic of theodicy and pathways for coping in the face of disaster.
