Jewish Teen Theatre Initiative

JTTI is a new, interest-based youth initiative for OC Jewish teens ages 13-18 interested in all aspects of theater production, including playwriting, acting, set-design, choreography, sound, promotion, and more. 

Thanks to a generous Teen Engagement & Wellness Initiative grant from the Jewish Federation of Orange County, each of the six events are offered at no charge to participants. Voluntary donations in support of this program are welcomed and appreciated.

We understand that teens are busy and families travel during the summer. Even if your child is only able to participate in one or two programs, we still encourage them to enroll.

Program 1: Improv Workshop led by LA Improv Artist, Josh Hillinger
JTTI Welcome Dinner for teens and parents
THURSDAY, June 15th- 6:00-8:30 PM
Location: Temple Beth Tikvah in Fullerton

Program 2: Attend a premiere performance of “A Transparent Musical” followed by a special cast & director talkback (limited seats available)
SUNDAY, June 25th - 10:00 AM– 5:30 PM
Location: The Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles

Program 3: Exclusive Shakespeare Workshop led by UCI Professor Dr. Julia Lupton followed by attendance at a closed rehearsal for “Julius Caesar”
SUNDAY, July 2nd- 11:30 AM– 4:00 PM
Location: UCI, Irvine

Program 4: Musical Theatre Workshop - Audition best practices: Song selection, Movement & Choreography. Led by OC Choreographer, Ellen Prince, and OCSA Music Director, Christopher Smith. Vegetarian BBQ Dinner provided. (Limited seats available)
THURSDAY, July 20th- 2:00 PM-6:00 PM
Location: Private home in Laguna Niguel

Program 5: Attend a live performance of New Swan's “The Abridged Shakespeare” preceded by an orientation with Artistic Director Eli Simon
All 37 plays in one show! (Limited seats available)
TUESDAY, August 8th - 7:00 PM
Location: UCI New Swan Theatre, Irvine CA

Program 6: Attend opening night performance of Hilltop Players' "Fantasy Fusion Follies" followed by JTTI end-of-summer celebration
SATURDAY, August 26th - 5:00 PM
Location: Temple Beth Tikvah in Fullerton
