LGBTQ+ 101 and Beyond: Jewish Grounding, Misconceptions, Vocabulary, Sexual Orientation vs. Gender Identity, Practicing Pronouns
11:30 - 12:00: Lunch and Breakout Groups. A vegetarian lunch will be provided.
12:00 -1:30pm | Part Two:
Addressing Risk Factors with the Jewish LGBTQ+ Community: Jewish Grounding, Considering Culture and Building Trust, ALGEE (from Mental Health First Aid Training), Warning Signs & Risk Factors, Practicing Difficult Conversations, and Making Informed Plans

Emily Abraham,JQ Presenter
Emily Abraham, ACSW, serves at JQ International’s Director of Support and Wellness. She is passionate about creating and providing holistic, inclusive, and accessible mental health services and resources. As an ally, Emily seeks to provide education and support to promote the health and happiness of the LGBTQ+ Jewish community. Prior to JQ, Emily worked as a primary therapist treating individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring issues. She received her Master of Social Work from University of Southern California and her BA in psychology from University of Maryland.
