Happy last day of Hanukkah! Your friends at JCoOC have been very busy throughout the holiday participating in celebrations both locally and across the country with Jewish and interfaith organizations including Family Promise, AMWEC, JFOC, The Laguna Beach Interfaith Council, and Our Jewish Recovery. Every Zoom celebration has been filled with spirit and hope.

Thank you to everyone who helped us meet our ambitious goal of filling 100 Backpacks of Love in support of those currently experiencing homelessness.
Next Friday is December 25 – a national holiday that has long inspired Jews to go skiing, to the movies and out for dinner at Chinese Restaurants. Join Rabbi Marcia, Jason Feddy and a host of friends for JCoOC’s second annual ShabbatandK’nishmasCelebration.

6:40pm: Community Zoom Shabbat Dinner! Order your kosher Chinese dinner from Blueberry Hill by CLICKING HERE. Orders received after Tuesday night at 6pm may not be able to be fulfilled so don’t wait until the last minute! There are some delicious vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Dinners can be picked up at the JCC on December 25 between 10 and 11am!
7:15pm: Zoom concert: “I’m Dreaming of a White K’nishmas,” featuring Jason Feddy, Rabbi-Cantor Marcia Tilchin, Raymond Zachary, and other special guests.

Monday, Dec. 21 & 28 at 9:30am ADVANCED LEARNING INSTITUTE We begin a two-part series titled
"U.S. Election Law: The Total Landscape." Our scholar is Aviel Menter, a third-year student at Columbia Law School who volunteers with the Standford-MIT Healthy Elections Project. In the first of two lectures, Avi will offer a broad overview of election law in the United States beginning with some foundational history in the 1800s. In his second presentation we will explore the use and misuse of election law in the modern era.

and refugee relief organizations throughout Orange County.
