Happy T"u b'Av (15th of Av)! This lesser-known day of celebration connects us to the purity of genuine love. In biblical Israel, it was a day on which unmarried men and women would seek to find their life partner in the weeks leading up to Rosh Hashanah. Learn more about T"u b'Avhere.
Tonight marks a special anniversary for the Jewish Collaborative. It was on erevT"u b'Av in 2016 that we held our first monthly Friday night service and dinner at Mozambique restaurant in Laguna Beach. This novel worship experience was recognized in the Laguna Beach Independent.
The Mozambique shabbatot eventually evolved into Shabbat by the Shore, and tonight we are delighted to celebrate the return of Shabbat by the Shore after a 17-month hiatus. Our guest list is filled to capacity and we are very excited.
