A SMORGESBOARD OF SPIRITUAL OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE DURING THE MONTH OF ELUL
This weekend, the Collaborative hosts our second pre-High Holiday program designed to usher us into this awesome season of introspection and reflection with intention.
Please join us tomorrow night, August 14, at 7pm for Havdalah Together, featuring Rabbi Jill Zimmerman. Her presentation, Approaching the High Holidays in Uncertain Times, promises to open our minds and hearts to whatever the Ten Days of Repentance will bring, even if it is not what we were expecting. We encourage you to download her latest Ebook, Return: 30 Days of Reflection, as an inspirational resource to help us prepare for the New Year.
There are other wonderful resources and workshops available for all of us to access in these weeks leading up to Rosh Hashanah to deepen our connection to God and one another. Below are just few suggestions. "Rabbi Google" may be able to recommend many more.
For the last three years, Judaism Unbound has offered Elul Unbound: Your on-ramp for the High Holidays. These compelling podcasts feature the world’s most evocative Jewish minds in conversation with hosts Dan Libenson and Lex Rofeberg. Check out this year’s menu and, if you are appropriately jazzed, enjoy previous seasons as well.
Dan Libenson and Natalie Goldfine will be leading a workshop on August 22 at 9am PDT called New Rules Judaism: Re-imagine New Traditions and Rituals for the Jewish New Year. Learn more here.
The Institute for Jewish Spirituality and its partner organizations from across the Jewish movements are offering The Shofar Project, a 4-week online Elul intensive that provides daily and weekly mindfulness, yoga, Torah study and more.
There are countless virtual gathering options available year-round in our growing Jewish communal cyberspace to ignite our souls and enrich our lives. No better time than the month of Elul to dive in and listen for the calls (of the proverbial shofar) that touch us most deeply.
