Dear Friends,

In these final days of 2022, we share our heartfelt gratitude for the past twelve months of stunning growth and creativity made possible through your support.  

Now in our 7th year, JCoOC is honored to collaborate with Jewish leaders from across the nation and religious spectrum - rabbis, cantors, CEOs, activists, educators, artists and more - innovating and supporting a range of programming designed to honor individual expressions of Jewish identification and longing.  We are delighted that you are connected to our work.

2022 has been one of our most productive and exciting years yet.

Some of our distinctive achievements include:

• Creating CLUE b'SHEVAT: a Tu B'shvat seder dedicated to championing worker justice issues in SoCal.
• Offering online Jewish Bereavement cohorts led by Chaplain Fran Chalin.
• Launching Gan Laguna - a monthly in-home Shabbat afternoon program geared to families with children ages 0-5.
• Sponsoring a community-wide LGBTQI+ Sensitivity and Inclusion training for Jewish professionals and lay leaders in partnership with JQ International, hosted at Temple Beth El in South County as part of our RBO Rabbinic Fellowship Program.
• Piloting Shakespeare and Sacred Text - A Midsummer Retreat in partnership with UCI's New Swan Shakespeare Center.
• Providing a Friendsgiving Dinner for families from Afghanistan and Ukraine new to the USA in partnership with OCJCR.
• Hosting OC's inaugural Kosher Dill Pickleball Tournament and Latke Festival that brought together an eclectic gathering of people of all ages coming together for fun and celebration.

In addition to these new opportunities, we enjoyed another wonderful year of learning, worship and fun with some memorable Shabbat by the Shore events, a powerful High Holiday Experience, exciting new scholars added to the Advanced Learning Institute faculty, innovations within Twelve Steps and Torah and so much more.  All of this is made possible through your generosity. 

Some notable projects in the works for 2023 include shepherding a teen-led Jewish theater company, building a community-wide Hevre Kadisha, and JCoOC's entree into purpose-driven travel. Please stay tuned!
