Support A Climate-Friendly Farm Bill! Network Meeting Tuesday May 16 8:00 pm Eastern Time Register in advance
Agricultural activities can pollute the land, water, and air, but these effects can be reduced with better farming practices. Through the Farm Bill, Congress supports programs to help farmers combat climate issues.
Our speaker,Geoff Horsfield will share his insights on the climate issues involved in Farm Bill funding, programs, and farming practices. Geoff is Government Affairs Manager at the Environmental Working Group (EWG). He works on policies to make food more sustainable and healthier, including those touching on alternative proteins like plant-based meat.
Rebecca Joy Fletcher will provide open with words of Jewish wisdom. Rebecca is an ordained synagogue cantor, professional actor, and climate activist. As the Director of Jewish Life at Coastal Roots Farmin Encinitias, CA she is responsible for earth-based Judaism programs, teachings and rituals.
HESED SHEL EMET The Jewish Collaborative of Orange County is convening people from every corner of the community interested in building Orange County's first pluralistic Hevra Kadisha (burial society). Local trainings and workshops will begin in August of 2023, but we encourage all interested parties to register for Kavod V'Nichum's annual online conference. Scholarships are available. The 21st Annual Kavod V'Nichum Conference will take place virtually June 12-14, 2023. Last year over 220 people from across 26 US states and 4 Canadian provinces joined us to learn and network. This year we hope to gather over 400 people!
