EnjoyTorah Sparks: Creative commentaries on the weekly Torah and Haftarah readings written by Conservative Yeshiva faculty.
On July 19th, Israel’s President, Isaac Herzog, spoke before a joint session of Congress. His presentation reminds us that general bipartisan support for Israel’s safety and security remains an issue that still unites the two major political parties in both the House and Senate.
For those who understand why Israel’s well-being and secure longevity are essential for global stability, it was a welcome reminder on many levels. No matter how unbalanced and at-risk Israel’s current internal dynamic may be, threats from the outside remain. Israel must be able to act both preemptively and quickly if necessary to protect all its citizens from terrorism.
We are grateful for America’s continued assistance toward that end.
