Today, August 25 - exactly one month before Yom Kippur (September 25) - the new movie GOLDA opens in select movie theaters around the country. This release coincides with the approaching 50th anniversary of Egypt and Syria's attack on the holiest day of the year.
GOLDA is a touching film, beautifully directed and performed. It focuses on Golda's leadership in the days just preceding, during and after the 1973 Yom Kippur war. I encourage everyone to see it on the big screen while you can. Helen Mirren's performance as Golda is authentic and admirable.
