A.A. Milne’s beloved nursery rhyme, Now We Are Six, was a family favorite in the home of my youth. I remember my sixth birthday and the milestone it represented. In that vein, it is hard to believe that five years ago next week, JCoOC formally “opened its doors,” hosting our first program on the grounds of St. Mark Presbyterian Church. One month later, in July of 2016, we held an open house at Mozambique Restaurant in Laguna Beach - our Shabbat evening home for more than a year. I recall our first High Holidays at the Mormon facility on Bonita Canyon and some of our early community partnerships. And that was just the beginning!
As we enter our sixth year of Jewish creativity, collaboration and community building, we review our past with pride and anticipate a purposeful future. Please visit our new websiteto explore the array of weekly, monthly and special programs that we now host in partnership with a broad spectrum of talented leaders and inspirational organizations. This is not your parent’s Judaism!
JCoOC’s offerings are open to anyone seeking Jewish connection and WE NEED YOUR HELP to share news about our unique programs with those who might not yet know about us.
